Whether you are starting out as an amateur artist or you are a professional that wants more out of your craft, it all starts with a thought for success. This workshop will demonstrate how to turn those thoughts into tangible things. In this dynamic visual concepts and imagination workshop, participants will apply concept-imaging for creativity that focuses on innovative tactics to revolutionize the way artist think, create, and perform. This creative art-themed holistic system provides the foundation necessary for artists of all genres to transcend from amateur to professional. Today, more artists are learning the four elements of the human personality – body, mind, soul, and spirit – and the Natural Laws under which these artists operate to produce achievement in their craft rather than failure. Transform your creative world with the power of ideas and application. Attendees will be able to demonstrate artistic restructuring and concept –imaging techniques used to build a positive foundation of thought and action easily applied to everyday life for success in business, personal development, and relationships. This interactive session, featuring Just Greg among the panel of presenters, will offer expert advice from those seasoned in the fields of performance & spoken word as well as DJ/radio hosting. Professionals are welcome to attend as well, and encouraged to contribute their experiences to the conversation.
Aronoff Center – Jarson-Kaplan Theater
As a lifelong lover of the Arts and an artist myself, I have always been drawn to the magnificent art form that is Spoken Word. I am a firm believer in the soul cleansing power displayed through both the writing and sharing. I believe it takes tremendous courage to grab the mic and speak of one’s lightest and darkest secrets. To share stories laced with triumph and tragedy, others filled with humor and satire. And of course there’s occasionally those pieces packed full of unsure and/or assured sexuality. Spoken Word Artist repeatedly “Spit” with or without conviction in dark rooms, facing few friends and plenty of strangers; all for the love of the art and the release that it brings.
When I became aware of the Last Poet Standing competition I definitely wanted to provide an opportunity via sponsorship for a few of my favorite poets to participate. Huggy Bear Da Poet, Symana She Speaks, and Jugh Jefner, rank high on my list so financially supporting them was really a no brainer. It is my honor to back their quest and show them my genuine respect for what they do and the unique way in which they do it. Hopefully one of them will bring home the win. However, even if that is not the outcome I am assured that every person in attendance will be better for having heard the heart of these poets and win, lose, or draw, that does my heart good.
I strongly urge everyone reading this to get involved with your local Art Scene. Sponsor an event, Host one at your place of business, or simply show up! Your presence is worth more than gold to those brave enough to grab the microphone and share and also to those of us that do open our doors so that this art form has a consistent platform. Believe me it cost me more monetarily to house Open Mics, karaoke, etc. but the real dividends our received in my soul and are chiseled in the DNA of my legacy, and that to me is priceless.
Thank you for allowing me to be a sponsor these three amazing Artist for this phenomenal event. I look forward to seeing who will be crowned The Last Poet Standing.

WordPlay is a creative learning center dedicated to transforming communities through education and innovation. The organization provides free programming to students in grades K-12 to build skills for personal and academic success so children and teens can break the generational cycles of poverty. WordPlay’s five elements of transformation are woven into each of its programs: Personal Development, Innovative Learning Strategies, Community-Building, Creative Expression, and Future Orientation.
Lacy “Asylum” Robinson came to WordPlay at the beginning of his senior year at Aiken High School in 2014. WordPlay became a lifeline for him offering a supportive artistic community through rough times. This experience even sparked a new perspective on his stage name that previously alluded to mental health struggles, evolving into ” I am Asylum, your Safe Place.” He quickly became an integral part of the organization’s poetry and spoken word community, working closely with WordPlay’s teaching artists Desirae Hosley and Elyse Daniel and mentoring other young poets himself. Lacy went on to win the individual competition of Cincinnati’s first annual Louder Than a Bomb youth poetry slam in 2015 from among hundreds of participants, and continues to perform and advocate for social justice through his poetry.
